Close up of a woman with short black hair, Tracy Thompson - Principal

Tracy came to the Newton School in July of 2019.  Prior to becoming a principal she taught elementary school for twenty-four years and middle school science for four years.  She took  a windy path to education getting her Associates degree from Lasell Jr. College in Newton Massachusetts and her Bachelor’s degree in Health Education from Plymouth State College.  After teaching for a short time she returned to the Upper Valley Educators Institute to become certified in Elementary Education and later in life attended the University of Vermont to receive her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in mathematics.  When not working Tracy is an avid sports fan, loves to garden and spends lots of time on the water with her family.  In the spring she can often be found in the family sugarhouse canning the syrup the family produces.  Tracy lives in Hartford, Vermont with her husband, two sons and two german shepherds.  Mrs. Thompson can be reached at tthompson@wrvsu.org.
