One Planet is an afterschool program whose mission is to create a dynamic learning environment that inspires and supports students in becoming compassionate global citizens and passionate lifelong learners.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Please know that if the daily fee is too expensive, there are options available. As a first option, families would apply for Child Care Financial Assistance through the VT DCF. Contact the Family Place for an application at 802-649-3268 or athttp://www.familyplacevt.org/child-care/. Should a family be denied assistance, partial and full scholarships are available through One Planet.
HALF-DAYS: Each of our sites has a slightly different ½ day schedule. Please reach out to your Site Coordinator to get the most up-to-date ½ schedule.
One Planet at Newton
One Planet is the afterschool program at the Newton School. From the time that kids leave the school day to our pick up at 5pm, we give kids the opportunity to socialize, try new things, and have fun! We have daily enrichment activities that allow students to have hands-on learning experiences in a relaxed and fun environment. Some examples of these activities are tennis, basketball, archery, wool felting, costume making, drama club, geography club, STEM, nature lessons, dungeons and dragons, and creative writing. In addition to our daily enrichment activities, we also give students time to socialize, eat a snack, and play together. We focus on giving students choices and allowing them to make decisions on how our program works. Our goal is to extend the learning from the school day in a fun and meaningful way.
