Donna Panella - Math Interventionist

Donna came to Newton in 2016. She grew up in the mountains of Colorado, graduating from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and her Elementary Teaching Certificate. From there she traveled to Rome, Italy to do her student teaching at Marymount International School. She taught in Germany and New Mexico before settling in Thetford and homeschooling her own kids for eight years. When not teaching math (which she loves!) Donna enjoys spending lots of time with her family, cooking, gardening, playing board games, and feeding her sweet 16-year-old dwarf Nigerian goat, Maisy.  Donna can be reached at dpanella@wrvsu.org.

Diane White - Reading Interventionist

Diane began her career at Newton in the fall of 1987 as the 6th grade teacher. Coming to Newton was a big change from her previous experience as a teacher of grades 4-6 in a one room school in Athens, VT. After 15 years of teaching a self-contained 6th grade classroom, the school changed to a  grade cluster system. For several years Diane taught reading and history and writing in the middle grades cluster. For the past 3 years, Diane has enjoyed working with students in grades K-6 as the reading interventionist. Diane has served as president of the PTA, and for 20+ years has served on the Local Standards Board for teacher relicensure. Outside of the classroom, Diane is an active member of the Strafford Area Lions Club. She also serves as the co-president of the Friends of the Morrill Library. In her spare time, Diane enjoys reading, traveling, watching the Red Sox, and spending time with her family and friends. You can reach Diane at dwhite@wrvsu.org.
