Michael Kell - Guidance Counselor

Mike Kell joins the Newton School staff as the School Counselor. Mike brings with him a wealth of experiences serving in many capacities in rural, suburban, and urban school districts. He has coached high school and college football for 28 years. Mike earned his B.A. in History from Geneseo State College, his first M.S. in Human Development/School Counselor from the University of Rochester, and a CAGS from Shippensburg University. Mike served in the active Army and Reserves for 32 years, retiring as a Major in 2006. Mike and his wife Deb have a small farm with chickens, two horses, Roo the dog and two cats. Besides working on the farm, Mike enjoys hiking, canoeing, horseback riding and boating on Lake Champlain.

Kylie Hebard - SAP Counselor

Kylie Hebard grew up in South Royalton and ventured off to “the city” (as small-town folks refer to Burlington) and got her Bachelors in Social Work through Champlain College. Kylie has experience in the mental health field working in a residential treatment program for youth ages ranging from 5-17 years of age. She is the SAP Counselor for Newton and Sharon Elementary School. When not working you can find her camping, reading, and exercising her dogs. You can reach Kylie at Khebard@wrvsu.org.
